Dairy House
Through shared community life — eating, working, and problem-solving together — residents rediscover their potential as sober, balanced, and productive members of a caring community.
Dairy House
Having supported over 350 people since it began, The Dairy House offers an abstinence-based, holistic, and person-centred approach to recovery from the trauma of homelessness. It helps residents identify and address the root causes of their challenges, preparing them for sustainable, independent living.
Residents are supported by a multi-skilled team providing relapse prevention, housing sustainability, one-to-one key work, and money management, alongside creative and therapeutic opportunities such as art therapy, counselling, animal care, and volunteering. These activities foster stability, confidence, and self-worth in a safe and settled environment.
A key feature of the programme is Root Connections, a volunteer-founded CIC that has developed into a successful two-acre horticultural project. Residents and volunteers work together during weekly Land Days to grow organic produce and flowers sold at local markets, with certificated learning opportunities relaunching in 2025.
Through shared community life — eating, working, and problem-solving together — residents rediscover their potential as sober, balanced, and productive members of a caring community. This helps them become confident and responsible tenants, ready for sustainable housing futures.
